Achievements

Major achievements in recent years (3 years):

Realizing the importance of primary education, the present government is working relentlessly to ensure equitable and quality primary education. Quality teachers are needed to ensure quality primary education. In order to create up-to-date and quality teachers, 18 months Diploma-in-Primary Education (DPED) has been done under PEDP-3 by updating the 12-month C-in-Ed curriculum before teacher training. DPED activities have started in PTI from 2017-2018 academic year. A total of 425 teachers have completed DPED training in this PTI in the last 3 years. Besides, 112 teachers are being trained in 2021-2022 academic year. Free textbooks have been provided to all DPED student teachers in the last 3 academic years. In addition, free textbooks have been provided to all the students of the examination school. Training activities are conducted as part of the teaching and learning activities of DPED students in 40 primary schools under this PTI. In the last 3 years, 200 teachers have received training in ICT in Education and 60 in Maths Olympiad. Besides, in the URCs (Sadar, Nachol and Gomstapur) under PTI, in the last 3 years, 1950 teachers have undergone subject based training on various subjects, 60 teachers have undergone marker training, 140 teachers have undergone induction training and 50 head teachers have undergone leadership training. Regular inter-PTI cultural competitions are being held with the participation of PTI students and have participated at the national level in 2018 and 2019. Besides, in the competition of National Primary Education Week 2018 and 2019, this PTI has been selected as the best PTI in Rajshahi division and has participated at the national level. A digital classroom has been set up in PTI's test school in 2020 and a digital classroom in PTI in 2021. Infrastructure development work has been completed in this PTI at a cost of around Tk. 14 lakhs. Moreover, different times have been allocated for repairing the infrastructure and materials of URC at different times and the work has already been completed.
